Abstract

Entrepreneurship is a vital component of economic transformation in emerging economies; however, empirical evidence regarding the en trepreneurial motivation of Generation Z is still scarce. This research investigates the perceived factors influencing entrepreneurial motiva tion among Vietnamese Gen Z, utilizing survey data from 400 participants. We employed Cronbach's alpha to evaluate the internal con sistency reliability of our measurement scales, and Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) to assess their construct validity. Subsequently, de scriptive statistical analysis was applied to compare the relative salience of the determinants. The findings delineate five determinant do mains: personal factors, familial and social influences, education and training, technological and media impact, and the economic and policy landscape. Institutional enabling conditions and individual capacity are identified as the predominant motivational factors. The findings offer empirical evidence from a Southeast Asian context and yield policy-relevant insights for the advancement of youth entrepreneurship in emerging economies.
